SUPPORT STATEMENTS

Gretchen Whitmer
Michigan Governor
Lansing needs more hardworking and passionate leaders like Betsy Coffia. I know Betsy will be a terrific advocate for families in Traverse City and the 103rd district and I’m proud to endorse her for State Representative.

Dana Nessel
Michigan Attorney General
Betsy Coffia is a champion of voting rights and protecting the will of Michigan voters. Her track record shows that she consistently shows up in the people's corner and fights to make Michigan a better place to live, work, and visit.
I know Betsy will work hard and be a great representative for the people of Northern Michigan.

Holly Bird
Attorney, Judge, Water Protector, & Indigenous Activist
It is my deep honor to support Betsy Coffia in her campaign to be our State Representative for the 103rd House District. Betsy grew up in our community and has a vested interest in the success and welfare of our people. As the daughter of a rural working-class family, she understands the struggles that many people face when they aren’t given a seat at the table.

She is also a deeply committed ally to the diverse population of voices in our region. Betsy strives to not only bring these people to the table but to also center their voices in matters that affect all. Through her past and continuing work, Betsy has demonstrated thoughtful leadership, trustworthiness, and respect for all people. Betsy as State Representative for our District is exactly what we need to move forward into a better, brighter future.

Kennard Weaver
Attorney, Northwestern Michigan College Trustee
I have known Betsy Coffia for more than a decade, and watched her develop her knowledge of how to win elections and get results for the people she represents.
Betsy has pushed for strategic planning and financial reform, as well as fair pay for county employees. She is a strong advocate for public education, mental health, child care, and affordable housing. Betsy has shown her understanding of Northwest Michigan residents and their challenges, and has worked to help them.

Nancy Kida
Former Judge for 85th Judicial District Court & Benzie County Probate Court
Betsy Coffia… What a dynamo! We need her in Lansing to listen, craft solutions to difficult problems, and work hard with others to get things done. Her working class upbringing, outstanding background as a journalist and educator, and her proven ability to win tough campaigns makes her uniquely qualified to succeed and serve. Let’s elect a lifelong area resident to the State House to advance our interests and make us proud!

Florina Kapitzke
Retired Educator
I am PROUD to endorse Betsy Coffia for House District 103. As a member of the BIPOC community, I have found NO GREATER ALLY. She welcomes, encourages, and demands inclusions. When other representatives have been afraid to take a stand, she was right there demanding more for those facing unemployment during COVID, marching with our brothers and sisters encountering discrimination, fighting for housing, and standing up for equity. She avails herself to those in need and provides them with a seat at the table. She leads and represents with wisdom and respect. In this time of political unrest, I am most at ease in my endorsement of Betsy Coffia. She is a beautiful human, offering both advocacy and access. I am honored to call her friend. I would be most proud to call her, Representative Coffia.
